Using disruptive Technologies to facilitate the Ecological transition of the Nautical sector

3rd PARTNERS’ MEETING IN GDANSK, POLAND

By definition, a partner is someone whom you can count on and who can count on you. Further, in true partnerships, all members share the same goals.

Last week we had our 3rd partners’ meeting in Gdańsk, Poland, hosted by Artur Karczewski, PhD, Eng. 👨‍🔬, and Jacek Frost from Gdańsk University of Technology, Wydział Inżynierii Mechanicznej i Okrętownictwa Politechniki Gdańskiej Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology ⚙️🛠️.

We visited their outstanding facilities—the faculty laboratories 🔬 and the companies Conrad Shipyard ⛵ and Sail Service.

Over an intense day and a half, we reviewed the progress of the TEcoNaut Project, an EU-funded project. To make the construction and repair of pleasure boats more environmentally friendly, we aim to inspire the development of a new generation of qualified professionals in shipyards and repair companies. They will implement and promote sustainable solutions.

Our workshops focused on the outcomes achieved to date, the current state of sustainability in the industry, and the next steps towards designing our training framework. However, the meeting also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and explore how we can ensure that the transition to greener practices aligns with upskilling and innovation in Europe’s recreational boating industry.

All our partners are profoundly committed to the training course on sustainable materials in boat building and repair that we are designing.

Step by step, it is taking shape 🙂 💡

We are enthusiastic about the next phase of the TEcoNaut Project, which involves piloting, and look forward to implementing the decisions and plans shaped during the meeting.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our TEcoNaut journey! 🌱
